Riley Toomey
Mortgage Banker | NMLS# 1949069
Mortgage Banker
A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in accounting, Riley has practically grown up in the mortgage industry, having worked in mortgage lending since she was 18 years old. Her favorite part of the home loan process is seeing how happy her clients are on closing day. “Problem solving is one part of the job I enjoy most,” she says. “Nobody wants to run into a problem during the mortgage process, but it can happen, and being able to come up with a solution for your borrower is so important!”
Veterans and first-time homebuyers hold a special place in Riley’s heart. Her husband is a veteran, and she’s not only enjoyed helping him buy his first home, but has also helped many of their military friends. “First-time homebuyers are always fun to work with because I know they are trusting me to help answer all of their questions,” she says. “To see their excitement on the day of closing is just so rewarding.”
When she is not helping homebuyers, Riley enjoys spending time with friends and family on Lake Murray and grilling out on summer days. An adventurer who loves traveling to new places in the U.S. and abroad, she has enjoyed mission-based travel. She has been to Jamaica, where she helped build an orphanage and Nicaragua, where she helped provide dental care to a community that didn’t have access to care. Closer to home, she enjoys trying new restaurants around the Columbia area and walking her two sweet, energetic dogs.
